hello every one! The porous media I study is anisotropic porous media. The velocity of flow will change differently with different direction or even position changing. Can I change the porosity or body force with direction or make a relationship of porosity or body force and position in CFX?

Hello

I use CFX4.3. I don't know if the new releases 4.4 or 4.5 are able to treat anisotropic porous media; 4.3 didn't. But you can treat this problem, with adding a body force. To this aim, you can use USRBF (chapter 10.7 of solver manual). The problem is the body force value.

You also have to choose the right RhieChow algorithm options because it has some problem with large body force value.

Good luck

Fred

ANSYS CFX presently allows only K(permeability) to be isotropic ( Ansys CFX help)
