Question about CFX GGI critical situation

Hi,

If the fluid domain grids surface A need to have GGI connection to two different grids surfaces B and C (one solid and one fluid). But because of the geometry complexity, the A surface can't be split into two, so the connections with B and C can't be defined separately. But if we define GGI like A with B then A with C, we got the error message

'In Analysis 'Flow Analysis 1' - Domain Interface 'A': The location is already being used for another boundary or interface.'

.

How to deal with this critical situation?

You will have to split surface A, even if it is difficult. As you correctly point out, surface A cannot be shared on two GGIs.

Surely it's easy to do this if you're using ICEM and some drawing package for your geometry.

1. In your drawing package make sure surface A is split in two.
2. Import the geometry into ICEM.
3. Create two separate parts in ICEM for the surface A.
4. Export your ICEM mesh to CFX.
