Problem with non-existent ansys partitioner executable
Hey,
I've installed CFX 14.5 on a local machine. License etc. are set correctly. The OS is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (I know, not supported, but under 10.04 LTS it works fine.) Cfxsolve runs without any problems in the serial mode, but when I try to start the same *.def-file in any parallel mode, it produces an error message: A ANSYS CFX Partitioner executable is required for this run, but none is available. There's no other output, so I don't know how to trace the problem. Does anybody have the same problem or maybe has already solved it? Can anybody give me a hint, what to try next? Thank you! |
Hi.
I have nothing to contribute except to say that I have exactly the same problem. I've installed ANSYS 14.5 on ubuntu 12.04 and get the error message: "A ANSYS CFX Partitioner executable is required for this run, but none is available." when trying to solve with a parallel environment. No problems doing it serial. I would be very grateful if anyone could help me fix this problem. |

solution
You should use -partitioner command line option when starting cfx5solve. And manually point to part executable, for ex. /ansys_inc/v145/CFX/bin/cfx5solve -partitioner /ansys_inc/v145/CFX/bin/linux-amd64/int64/partitioner.exe -def $defFile -start-method "Platform MPI Distributed Parallel" -par-dist $nodes -size 1.4 $ini. Tested on Debian 7.1.
