deform the original geometry
Hello, guys
Just quick question about the CFX. Is it possible to deform the original geometry and remesh it in CFX, like the moving wall? Then, what do I need to do for this in CFX? Thanks, |
Yes, CFX can do this. Have a look at the workbench integration and design optimisation stuff.

Thank you for reply, ghorrocks. I haven't look that up. Where can I find that information? Is there any tutorial on this deforming geometry in cfx? You said workbench. Do you mean Ansys workbench?
What I want to do is just after generate the mesh on cylinder tube with icem cfd and deform this cylinder to eliptical cylinder applying force or displacement and remesh it using icem cfd replay script in the cfx. It's kind of moving mesh. Could you advice on this issue? The deform the geometry is the issue now. The geometry can be also just square tube. |
The design optimisation stuff should be able to do this - check the ANSYS customer site for tutorials and examples of how this works.
You might also be able to do this with the Fluent adjoint solver. But that is Fluent and I have no idea if it is suitable. |
