CFX Error 001100279 Locating Dataset Failed.
Hello,
I:m running two configurations, steady state and then transient for a butterfly valve problem. The steady state runs fine and the convergence is good and I use its solution as the initial value of the transient analysis. However, when it gets to the transient configuration, it spits out this error without even going through one iteration. Quote:
Does anyone know anything about this? All the best, Yu |
So I continued to screw around with the settings in preproc and stumbled upon a solution. It turns out I was at least partially right, the mesh wasn't getting to CFX post. It turns out I had to include mesh in the output control menu. Hope this helps someone else down the line!

more explanation needed
I'm sucked:confused: with this error for many days... can you please explain more how could I solve it?
|
The first post is referring to an interpolation error. So the problem in is in the interpolation routine, not the solver. Maybe that will help you sort it out.
I am sorry to hear you are sucked, it sounds worrying. But looking at the right bit of software is the starting point (ie: not the solver). |

I've crossed this error recently. I launched cfx-solver and interrupted it. Then I tried to continue it, but failed. I got this error. I duplicated CFX-module and tried to continue calculation using previous results as initial conditions. Too bad, there was the same error. Solver works fine if I reset solution cell only. |
Oh, .res file just was damaged! Somehow it happened to be very small - that was the rub.

The same ...
Hi,
The same error also appears on my CFX-Solver Manager, did you find a solution to it ? |
Not sure if it will help, but from my experience I got the messages with
Quote:
Meaning: You can choose in CFX Pre to Output only selected variables for your .res/.bak/.trn files. If you do so then it is mandatory to tick the option "Include Mesh" if you want to use the file as input or even to be able to post process it. Another Problem is also that if your full path of the file contains non standard characters (äöü,á,é, etc.), then CFX will fail to "find" the file and if I remeber well it will give you a similar error. |
It worked !!
Thank you for you help, you were right, but I also have a problem with my interrupt condition.
Thank you a lot. |
Which suggestion exactly was the right one? ;)
|
Included Mesh option
The first one : select in Output Control the Included Mesh option.
But if you select the Standard option, there is no problems. |
Thx for the info.
Of course, with standard options cfx writes every information it needs. |
Is this the same?
Hey guys, I'm getting this error. Is it the same kind of error?

Maybe, hard to tell. CFX error messages are not very helpful. You need to look in context of what the solver was doing at the time and what you were trying to do.
