 July 28, 2013, 21:46 defining discrete density profile in a domain #1 New Member   mrityunjay sahu Join Date: Jun 2013 Posts: 5 Rep Power: 5 I am working on stably stratified environmental flows. I have to define two density profile which varying with depth. Such as one profile is from h to h-b and another profile is from h-b to 0. Kindly suggest me the way to perform it. Thank you.

The density is caused by a combination of temperature, pressure and possibly additional stuff (eg salt content). You have to define the temperature, pressure and/or stuff (salt) values and you will get your density profile.

thank you ghorrocks for your reply. I know the profile of density. How ever it is depth dependent. For instance, there is two layer of density and an interface one is upto 0 to H-h and another is from H-h to H, where H is depth of domain. Density is a function of temperature. I have to define this profile with CEL during initialization, kindly suggest me in this regard. Thank you.

So then you can specify the temperature initial condition, and set density to be a the function of temperature. Have a look at the CEL expressions for writing functions. And set the density to be the function of temperature and there you have it.
