Cfd post

Hi
how can I see wave profile on a ship hull in ansys cfx post?

Have you modeled this using two phases (water and air)? If so you can create a surface plane on the ships hull, and then insert a new contour at that location (the surface plane you created) and colour the contour by volume fraction of water or air.

hi

thank you becouse of your answer but I don't want see the countur.Iwant to make a wave profile charts on my ship hull in order to see the differences between experimental tests and cfd.my analysis contain air and water .thank u

Post a picture of the charts you have for your experimental data. Also post a picture of your domain and setup.

You haven't told us what you're doing, and unfortunately we can't read your mind, so you have to tell us! :)

I attach wave profile picture an my domain.I am analysing drag forc on a ship hull in tow domain of air and water with an interface.I use domain interface in my set up and steady state solving .

Generate a plane at the locations you want to generate wave profiles.

Then generate a contour plot on that plane of volume fraction. Make sure you generate a contour at VF=0.5.

Next create a polyline using the VF=0.5 contour.

Finally, plot the polyline height in CFD-Post, or export it and plot it in your choice of package (excel, tecplot, matlab, whatever).
