hi all
i don't know what does P-vol in RMS equation refer to? i know it is about continuity equation but what is the exact meaning? i also know it changes into RMS mass by changing the boundary conditions would you pleas help me figure it out? best regards |

This is all explained in the CFX theory manual.
But I do not understand your question "I also know it changes into RMS mass by changing the boundary conditions". That does not make sense to me. |

It's P-vol when you are solving multiphase problems, P-mass otherwise.
On multiphase problems the continuity equation is re-written as a volume conservation equation, therefore P-vol (P is because it is used to return the Pressure - the manual has this covered). Additional conservation equations are solved for each phase, giving you the volume fraction. |

when you use segreted solution it is p-vol and when you are using coupled solutin it is p-mass in multiphase flows
