Rigid body or immersed solid?

I want to model motion of a small filled cylinder which move inside a pipe(2 inch diameter). water pressure push the cylinder forward. outer diameter of filled cylinder is very very close to inner diameter of pipe such that no water pass across it.
I think it can be simulated using rigid body and immersed solid but I don't know which one is better.
is there any suggestion?

Those are 2 different things. An immersed solid can be a rigid body.
The rigid body is just a collection of surfaces that are used for force and torque inputs to the 6DOF motion calculation.
An immersed solid is just that, a solid inside your domain. It can be stationary, or tied to 6DOF or your own user motion.
There are limitations adn assumptions on immersed solid as it just uses source terms to approximate the solid region within a domain.
