Hi all,

I am simulating the flow in a pipe with radial perforations. I am attempting to do it by no having the perforations in the mesh but by setting a mass source term on the wall boundary condition, so I can avoid issues related with too different dimension scales in the mesh. The cylindrical surface of the pipe is defined as a wall with a mass source expressed by a mass flux and the velocity components to fix the direction. The inflow through the perforations is radial but the option to set the velocity components is only via cartesian coordinates.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Define the velocity of the mass source as a function of the position to give the direction in cartesian coordinates. For instance for a radius 1 circle on the XY plane it would be VelX = -x, Vely = -y, VelZ = 0.

I will let you sort out the transform to position it where you want and to scale it to get the correct velocity.
