Assigning Solid Material Type to a Nozzle in Nitrogen Fluid Surrounding Domain

Hi everyone,
I am a beginner on using ANSYS CFX. I wish to add Tungsten Carbide Material to the solid nozzle which I placed in Nitrogen Based Fluid Domain in Design Modeller. How can I assign Nozzle Material in Design Modeler? Please assist me if anyone know about it. |

You do not assign material in DM. Just assign it as a part. You assign it a material in Meshing or CFX-Pre.

OK. Thanks for this info. Would you please suggest that in Mesh Where I can find the Material Library to assign Tungsten Carbide Material to the solid Nozzle? Please identify the steps.

Please see the image in above link and please explain why the black arrow at outlet boundary condition showing both direction means in forward and backward. What does it mean. I don't want it this flow direction. I want output flow in forward direction not in backward direction. Can anyone help. |

This is all very basic stuff - have you had a look at the CFX tutorials? It explains how to do all this basic stuff.

Hi ghorrocks,
Actually I have assigned a solid domain to the nozzle body and I assigned another fluid domain to the fluid inside the nozzle and it is working fine. But this solid nozzle is placed in a surrounding cylindrical fluid domain consists of nitrogen gas. I am unable to establish a flow through nozzle to this surrounding domain. I put inlet bc as 6 bar and 100 C and outlet at atm pressure. Please suggest that why the gas is not flowing to the surrounding domian. Thanks in advance. |

Again, getting the flow moving is pretty basic stuff and it covered by the tutorials. Have you looked at the tutorials?
If you are really stumped please post your CCL and an image which shows you boundary condition locations. |

The CFX tutorials are available from the help menu.
If you want a broad overview of the entire software do all of them, but for your specific case a few are relevant. Have a look at ones which use solid/fluid domains and multiple domains. Your problem is going to be in setting these up. |
