Query regarding Inlet B.C for NASA Rotor37

Hello Everyone.
I am Manpreet, working on project flow analysis through blade passage of NASA Rotor 37. I am using ANSYS CFX for simulation. I put B.C at inlet: total temp: 288.15 K Total pressure: 1 Atm (As per literature) Could anyone please let me know about Flow direction. In cfx there are three options such as 1. Normal to Boundary condition. 2. Cartesian coordinate 3. Cylindrical coordinate. I did not find form any literature which coordinate system should I use for flow direction. You choose the boundary condition which matches the condition you are trying to model. And only you know those details of what you are trying to model.
The simple approach is to move the inlet boundary far enough back that a simple normal to boundary condition is acceptable. If you have an inlet close to the region of interest you might need to be more careful to specify a flow direction using one of the other coordinate systems. |
