Does anyone know where I can find the specifications for CFX's .def file format? I want to write an I/O routine for CFX but am unable to figure out what the file should look like.

It is a propriety format and is not public.

You can generate def files using session files which drive CFX-Pre, or you can edit def files with cfx5cmds.
