Hi,
I would like to monitor a variable that would give me an answer to how much fluid rotates in a pipe. Lets say the pipe is in the X direction and positive direction of flow is in X+. And the fluid little bit rotates around X axis. I created cross-section perpendicular to the X direction, and I want to monitor some variable corresponding with the fluid rotation. Neither on web nor in help I cant find any reasonable explanation of velocity.swirling normal, velocity.swirling normal X, velocity.swirling strength, velocity.swirling vector etc. I only found out what velocity.curl is. However I am still not quite sure about it, as in a pipe where I have nearly no rotation, velocity.curl gives much higher values than velocity.curl X,Y,Z. Thank in advance! |

What about areaAve(sqrt(Velocity v^2 + Velocity w^2)/max(abs(Velocity u),0.01[m/s]))@outlet
Of just monitor the v and w components, As an indication......... |
