Dear All,

I could like to model smoke from chimney which taking into account of different gas properties such CO, N2, etc. I had done flow from a circular vent tutorial that treats smoke as an additional variable and track that around. However, it does not define any properties of smoke. Could anyone advise me how to model different properties of smoke? Is it similar to the ways as creating a multicomponent fluid in reacting flow in a mixing tube tutorial?

This is a straight forward multi component gas simulation. it will take into account the different gas properties.

Be aware that CFX will model buoyant effects between regions of different gas composition, but it will not separate mixed gases by buoyant effects. But if you are modelling a chimney this effect is insignificant compared to mixing due to convection and turbulence so should not be a problem.
