dear cfx users
i want to have subdomain that is not consist a whole domain what should i do ? obviously i need to model another volume in my geometry , i did that now in cfx-pre when i defined my domain to have all the bodies and then i defined my subdomain that is just a portion of my parent domain , i had an error regarding the isolated fluid , so i changed this solver check in expert parameters to false , it did converged then , but when i saw the results it appears that the domains dont have any physical connection i mean that my subdomain that is energy source does not interact with its parent domain, so what should i do ? thank you all in advance |

Out of plain curiosity, how did you manage a subdomain that's only a portion of it's parent? I wasn't aware that was possible.

When you define the domain include 2 or more mesh regions in it. You can then define a subdomain consisting of some or all of the mesh regions. If it is only some of it the subdomain will cover a portion of the parent domain.

Thank you, Glenn. So, if i understood correctly, this has to be done beforehand, during meshing. Creating various mesh regions allows me to select sub-subdomains ?

Yes, the mesh regions are defined in the meshing package.

i create couple more regions in my geometry and then i selected all of them and rmb and "Form new part" , by this i have just one part but i got all of the volumes i need to use in my model in cfx-pre ,its really good way to define sources in the domain
