Is it possible to connect the output from outlet of one domain to the inlet of another domain, which are not physically connected in cfx?
(Heard this can be done in recirculating boundary option in fluent)

Opaque will become famous soon enough
No as far as I know..

What is the modeling need for that ?

I imagine is to save the mesh transformation to join the domains, correct ?

Are the results of the simulations implicitly linked? Or can you simply relay that information? Is it steady or transient?

If it's the former I would manually set up a domain interface. The nodes may need to line up.

If it's the latter then you can connect them via and export/import of the pertinent data. Run the first part of the domain, then you set up a plane at the outlet. Export the needed data (u, v, w, T, etc) to a CSV. Then start a second simulation with the second body you will use the tools -> Initialize profile data to use the CSV information at your inlet.

ghorrocks is just really niceghorrocks is just really niceghorrocks is just really niceghorrocks is just really nice
This sounds like a translational periodic interface.

Thanks for the replies..
Jrstark3 u r saying abt separate individual analysis of 2 components and in which we are importing the result of one analysis into another.. But I am asking how to connect the outlet of one domain to the inlet of another domain which is not physically connected

Yes ghorrocks... In Some periodic cases such requirement arises..

I like to say 2 situations..
1. A Simplified shell and tube exchanger, in which a modeled only one tube and I want to outlet condition to be given as the inlet condition for the 2nd pass

2. Thr r 4 domains. 1 axisymmetric complex domain and to which three pipe domains of different diameter are connected along the circumference at different location.. Now to simplify the meshing process, I meshed only a sector of the axisymmetric model and given rotational periodic condition.. Now in this sector model, 2 pipe are not physically connected... Is it possible to connect by anyway or do I need to make the full model only?

It describes the recirculating boundary in fluent

I think you can use interface
