Hi there,

Working on Workbench 16.2, CFX.

Issue

I am having an issue with running CFX-Solver. I am currently trying to model fluid through a partially open valve. The geometry, mesh, and CFX-Pre all seem to save okay and work, no issues there. However, when I go to run CFX-Solver, the message:

"The CFX Setup case file no longer exists. Continuing in an initial state."

followed by:

"Cannot Define Run without a valid definition file!"

It then wipes all my data from the CFX-Pre, meaning I have to re-enter all the information.

What I've Done

Checked that the CFX-Pre .def file is actually saving, which it appears to be. I have tried to open up the file directly in CFX-Solver, but a message then appeared about UNC file paths. I then did what the message stated, but this appears to have no effect.

Any help would be very appreciated!

Thanks

I would try importing the mesh file into CFX-Pre outside of workbench and generating the .def file from there and see if you encounter similar errors. Basically, limit the usage of Workbench as much as possible.

Otherwise, contact ANSYS support.
