Hi all,
I have to simulate the air flo through this wierd looking geometry!!
So I am using enclosure command to fill the geometry with air. But my geometry is not a straight line and I just want to fill up air inside the tool and not exterior to the geometry.

I applied symmetry, and the hole in this drilling channel does not have a uniform profile as seen from the figure. How to enclose air domain just in the interior of the geometry. !

Hope, I made myself understandable,
Any inputs will be appreciated

If you use the enclosure command it will fill everything, but then you trim the body back using cut commands to just the bit you want.

Why use 3D CFD for this? Why isn't 1D pipe flow friction factors good enough?

Thanks for. your reply.. Yes. This should work. I ll try it out.
I am doing a. Conjugate heat transfer analysis where I am interested in the temp. Profile and also the heat transfer coefficient of air. The cooling channel has a spiral path through the tool.which is not planar.v
