Default Residual Normalization Procedure

Hello,

In the theory guide of CFX, it is written that the normalized residual is given in general by:
\left[\tilde{r}_\varphi\right]=\frac{\left[r_\varphi\right]}{a_p \Delta\varphi}, where r_\varphi is the raw residual control volume imbalance.

I have a few questions of clarification:

1) What does that mean "raw residual" ? Is it non-normalized residual ?
2) It is unclear if the bracket referred to the matrix that group each residual for each control volume or if it's the sum of all residual of all control volume (like the RMS average) ?

3) If I want the formula for one control volume only, I have to write the formula as follows ?
\tilde{r}_\varphi=\frac{r_\varphi}{a_p \Delta\varphi}

Thanks !
