I am having problems generating a 2D grid in CFX 5.4. When I generate a thin solid of less than about 30 degrees in the radial direction, I get various fatal errors dealing with the quality of the grid. What is the procedure for generating a grid with only a single node in the radial direction?

You cannot explicitly generate a 2D grid in CFX-5.4 It only does 3D.

So, that basically leaves you with trying to gererate a thin layer of tetrahedrons, say a few elements thick, and then apply symmetry boundary conditions on either side.

You need to make the geometry narrow enough to be "almost" 2D. Be careful when doing this though as it is easy to generate bad tetrahedral elements which the solver may not be able to handle.

In fact, cfx-build can get the 2-d axisymmetric modeling,but it's a 3-d solid indeed and k=1
