Multiphase error...
Hi everybody,
I want to start a 2-phase flow in CFX-4 restarting from a Single phase dump file. Two different things are happening to me. If I restart from dump not setting an initial guess for volume fraction, solver tells me that it doesn't sum 1 for every cells. However, if a restart from dump file using initial guess for Volume Fractions, solver tells me the following message extracted from output file: --------- ..INLET BOUNDARIES ....PHASE NAME 'GAS' ....PATCH NAME 'INLET' ....NORMAL VELOCITY 5.9536E+00 ....VOLUME FRACTION 9.9605E-01 ....TURBULENCE INTENSITY 3.7000E-02 ....DISSIPATION LENGTH SCALE 4.0296E+00 ..INLET BOUNDARIES ....PHASE NAME 'SOLID' ....PATCH NAME 'INLET' ....NORMAL VELOCITY 5.9536E+00 ....VOLUME FRACTION 3.9500E-03 ....TURBULENCE INTENSITY 3.7000E-02 ....DISSIPATION LENGTH SCALE 4.0296E+00 ..PRESSURE BOUNDARIES ....ALL PHASES ....PATCH NAME 'PRESS' ....PRESSURE 0.0000E+00 ....STATIC PRESSURE SPECIFIED ..OUTPUT OPTIONS THE PRESSURES AT THE BOUNDARY NODE BETWEEN CELL ( 1 1 5) AND CELL ( 1 1 6) IN BLOCK SOLID 11 ARE NOT THE SAME FOR EACH PHASE TEN PRESSURE BOUNDARY NODE ERRORS HAVE BEEN DISPLAYED OUT OF A TOTAL OF 42 42 ERRORS IN SETTING REAL BOUNDARY CONDITIONS THE CFX-4 SOLVER HAS BEEN STOPPED BY SUBROUTINE CMDBC ----------- Well, what does that mean? SOLID 11 is the block where is located the INLET BC. How can I procceed with it? Regards, cfd guy |
Re: Multiphase error...
Try running without specifying the pressure boundary. With patch name "press", the code will understand that it is a pressure boundary with zero pressure.
