how does the solid look like and how should the hole too look like? Method depends on your geometry!!

In CFX-4 you can create the "hole" as a solid that isn't included in the volume meshing, or simpliny leave a hole in the multiblock structure. In CFX-5, same thing really: create a b-rep solid exluding the hole surfaces, or cretae two solids, one for the entire geometry and one for the hole, and have a cutout solid in you domain definition. All of this I'm sure is shown in the tutorials. If you require more training, CFX also offers courses and one-to-one days to accompany you along your project set up...

Hi beginner,

Please specify which CFX product you are using as the approach may vary.

For CFX-5, create the surfaces which bound your solid (ie four flat surfaces, two trimmed surfaces with holes cut through them, and a cylinder). These surfaces may be combine into a <ib>Boundary Represented Solid</ib> (B-Rep).
