Default Mean vel. or RMS Vel.?

Hi All,

I am a new CFD user. Are the velocity calues calculated by the solver RMS velocities or mean velocities? How about the commonly published LDV velocity values? Should I expect that if these velocities are high then the turbulent KE is also high? I am aware that KE is calculated from RMS vel (eg in K-E model etc). Please shed light on this. You input is highly appreciated.

Thanks

Nathan
