Default help, how to define a variable in CFX5

For example, I want to create a point by coordinates xyz,but the coordinates is not constant, so I want define a variable. In Expression Editor, I can define a variable,e.g. xvertex=5, but I cannot use it in the course of create a point by coordinates [xvertex 0 0]
