parametrization

I have to optimize a wing profile. How can I set up the variables and functions (like sin cos tang) ? Anyone have an example of session?

Hi Stex!

You can use the tool -> expression editor to define you own function or to use standard function (sin, cos, ... ). Or you write it in CEL in your CCL-definition file (Use tools -> OS Command Line and a text editor)

Hi Stex,

I think you want to set this up in PCL (PatranCommandLanguage) so that you can adjust your geometry? Am I right?

In this case give a look at thye Patran/Nastran language (it is briefly described in CFX course notes) and use the Perl provided within CFX-5 to run loops of "optimisation" based on the results you post-process in Post that feed algorithms that will drive the writing-up of adjusted parameters in the session file for Build-5 (all in Perl).

Re: parametrization

how can I create a Costant for example alfa=0.145 and then create a point which has x=30* cos(alfa); y=0; z=0; from command line in cfx5.5-build ?

thanks

Re: parametrization

Hi! What exactly do you mean? Do you want to create a geometry or a simulation variable (like velocity or concentration). I thought about the second one.

Bye!

I want to create a Geometry, Roman, beginnig from the creation of parametrized points!!

Re: parametrization

Hi Stex! Sorry, but I create my geometry only in CFX build (common methode) and never have used the parametrisation. So I don't have experience with this too. I thing Holidays can help you to do this.

Bye, Roman
