mixed subsonic/supersonic flow at an inlet BC

Hello all,

what is the best and physical correct way to define the inlet BC for mixed subsonic/supersonic flow ? Currently I use a total pressure profile at this location but it seems to be physically insufficient.

Hi,

this seems to be a bit of an obvious answer, and im sure u must have tried it. But do i know where in your inlet boundary the transition from supersonic to subsonic occurs, if so, then u could used two inlet boundaries with one subsonic and one supersonic?

we tried this and the results are not physical correct because of the interface between the two parts. They have no physical velocity profile.

So I am still looking for a good answer. Maybe I will find it sometime.
