Mesh: Fluent -> CFX

Hallo,

Have anybody tried to export mesh (made in Gambit) from Fluent to CFX? I tried different translators, but still exists some troubles.

Have you any experience and tips?

Thanks in an advance

Pawel

Re: Mesh: Fluent -> CFX

1: Assuming that your model has only Tri-, Quad-, Hex-, Tet- or Wedge elements

2: Make sure that you have shell elements (Tri or Quad) attached to every boundary and grid interface. Also make sure that the ID's, families (whatever the name is in Fluent) is distinct for every boundary and interface

3: Hoping that Fluent has a NASTRAN interface, you can export the model in that format.

4: If your Fluent model consists of more than one mesh which are connected via interfaces, export these submeshes seperately.

5: Import the single meshes with CFX-Pre. Boundary, Interface regions and domains will be recognized

Hi Pawel,

were you able to import the mesh. If so, let us know, that'll help us too.

Thanks
