Prasanth,

CFX-5.6 is ready and will be shipping in the next few weeks. If you are a current customer, you will receive it.

Hi Robin, From your postings, I guess you have more information about CFX5.6 than most of us. 1.What are the new offers... just in a few sentnces. 2.There is this problem of CFX (may be others too) using linear interpolation across the interface (say, in SG/MFR simulations) between the rotating and the stationary frame. This local operation, I assume, affects the global solution in the interior nodes, and the problem could be worse with schemes that are not always stable. {Some one can correct me if i am wrong}. People have been going a round this problem by avoiding schemes like QUICK. Has this problem been addressed in CFX5.6 or else where?

Thanks for your time.

CFX5.6 has been ready for at least 3 weeks. The CFX-people need one month to copy the CDs in Canada and ship them to their customers. If you insist, you can get it at once.

Re: have CFX 5.6 came into market or not??

Hi Nyatoto,

CFX-5 and CFX-TASCflow share the same General Grid Interface (GGI) algorithm and neither involve interpolation. Rather, the conservative fluxes are preserved through the interface by mapping faces (CFX-TASCflow) or subfaces (CFX-5) on one side of the interface to overlapping faces on the other side. This method ensures that all conserved quantities are also conserved at the interface.

Regards, Robin
