Hello,

I want to simulate a problem composed of 2 fluid domains (the 2 fluids are different) separated by a solid domain (in which I want to resolve the heat equation). I don't know how to modelize this problem (what is/are the domains, what is/are the sub-domains ?). Can anyone help me ? Thanks

Chris

Chris,

I am having a similar problem. I am trying to do a simple heat exchanger. I created a problem with three domains - two are fluids and one is a solid domain between the two fluid domains. I set up the domain interfaces, but the solver gives me ERROR #001100281 (Two disconnected groups) I did not use sub domains and I think that may be my problem. Let me know if you get anywhere and I will do the same.

Hello both of you,

You have to define one domain with three subdomains. Two Fluid-Sub-Domain and one Solid-Domain. This should solve your problem. I had a similar problem with 6 fluid-sub-domains and one solid domain and it worked. Let me know if this solved your problem.

Holger,

What program are you using? I am using CFX 5.6. If you are using CFX 5.6, can you tell me how to select different fluid properties for different fluid sub domains?

Thank you, Jonathan
