proE to CFX

I'm doing a thesis about HVAC. Then I have modeled an office by using pro-e. Now I don't know how to convert the model to the cfx5.6.1 to start a meshing and so on.

You can export an IGES file from Pro/E to CFX or have a direct Cad interface (I think you have to pay for such an additional feature). Iges format works for us and it's free

Re: proE to CFX

If you have acess to 5.6, have you considered CAD2MESH? It is a new offering from ANSYS, you can have a direct interface to PRO/E...

Re: proE to CFX

I used CFX5.6 but I can't interface CFX with ProE because this function is not included with the license. So I have converted my proE model into iges format. After that, when I imported the IGES model into CFX build, I can't do meshing.

Re: proE to CFX

Hi sya,

When you import .iges files, basically no volume element is imported. You have to build Solid in CFX-Build using the imported surfaces.

Cheers,

Jeniffer
