Hi, All

In tutorial 13 of CFX 5.6, the molar mass of acid(H2SO4) is set to be 19.52 kg/kmol. How to get this value? Can anyone help to list the details of deriving Molar mass from molecular weight?

Thanks!

Aslo: How can I get the kinematic diffusity of a chemical? From literature? or by experiment?

This looks like an average molar mass of a aqueous solution of H2SO4. Pure H2SO4 = 2*1+1*32+4*16 ~98 kg/kmol.

Yes, from literature, Perry or something. However if conditions are turbulent, then fill in 1e-10 or so.

Hi,Pascale,

Thanks for your reply. As you said, if conditions are turbulent, then fill in 1e-10 or so---Does this mean the kinematic diffusity will be material independent for turbulent flow? Are you sure of this?

By the way, could you please list some literatures about kinematic diffusity?

Thanks a lot!

Yes, I am sure.

'Properties of gases and liquids' from Reid is a good start.

Hi, Pascale,

As you said, the kinematic diffusity will be material independent for turbulent flow. Could you please provide the literature sources for such a conclusion? I am trying to use this conclusion in my thesis work, but I do need to put a reference for that.

Thanks again!

Jim

pfffff..

Try the cfx-manual as a start. And further... Bird, Stewart and Lightfoot?
