Restriction on filename?

Is there any restriction on the filename and folder name defined in CFX? I have the file, named "10_10_0p2_1.def", in the folder, named "roof_height". I got the error message that I do not understand in Solver. Thank you very much.

I got the error message say something about filename checking in Build with the file named "roofExpand".

I am aware of spaces. You cannot use these in directories and file names. Your file name looks correct to me.

It may be because your def file name begins with a number instead of a letter - I know there are restrictions in CCL on this.

Re: Restriction on filename?

I think there are many, many, MANY cryptic restrictions on all sorts of text fields. I avoid using any special characters besides - (dash) and so far that seems to work.

I think there is / was a restriction on total absolute path length too.

Re: Restriction on filename?

The problem is with CFX-5 CEL expressions that can contain references to named locations (eg: boundaries subdomains etc.)

So, don't use a dash in any material, boundary, domain name etc... this wont work because it can get misinterpreted as a CEL expression.
