Consideration of Hydrostatic Pressure

Hello All,

Do I need to consider the hydrostatic pressure in the reference pressure of domain for a gas-solid two-phase flow in the vertical pipe?

Thanks a lot!

Re: Consideration of Hydrostatic Pressure

The vertical pipe has an inlet at the bottom and an outlet at the top. A gas-solid fow in the pipe from the bottom to the top. Bouyancy model should be applied according to the manual due to the big difference between gas and solid. I think there exists a siginifcant hydrostatic pressure drop between the inlet and the outlet, for example, 1e5 Pa. I got the inlet velocities for both gas and sold from industrial operations. Now my questions are:

1. What's the suitalbe reference pressure for this system?

2. How to specify the boudary conditios both for inlet and outlet?

I have already tried many times for different rererence pressures and different boundary conditions based on the tutorials and the manual guidences. Near two months have been past by, unfortunately I still haven't obtained any converged solutions. I am looking forward to your hints how to solve the problem out. Your any reply is higly appreciated.
