Can CFX solve problem with structured mesh?

Hi,

Just wonder if CFX is able to solve the problem with structured mesh? Will the solver treat the structured mesh as unstructured one? Can the solver identify if the mesh is structured or unstructured? I'm not sure if the method to solve problem on structured mesh is the same with the unstructured one. Shall be obliged if anyone here are willing to let me know.

Thanks, Pete D

Pete,

CFX-5 is an unstructured solver and can import and run on structured Hex meshes or a mix of Hex, Tet, Prism and Pyramid elements.

Thanks, Robin.

Can I ask if there's any difference between the structured & unstructured solvers if problem is solved on a given structured mesh?
