I am doing analysis of a Adjustable chock valve using CFX 5.7. I am trying for a moving mesh simualation. But I am getting the following error.

************************************************** ERROR #002100010 has occurred in subroutine cVolSec. | | Message: | | One of the sector volumes of an element is equal to or less than | | zero. It means that there exists an illegal mesh, execution will | | be stopped immediately. | | The element sequential number is: 80 | | The element label is: 80 | | The sector volume is: -0.1077E-14 | | The location (x,y,z): 0.21066E-02 0.23395E-02 0.50000E-04 ************************************************* I am having only CFX in my hand, plz help me to get out of this problem.. Hi Sreevisakh,

Moving the mesh can result in collapsed elements. If the solver detects these, it will shut down and write a res file with the new mesh. Have a look at your res file and see where your mesh has collapsed. If the degree of motion was not your intent, you should review your CEL for possible errors.

If you valve completely shuts, you will not be able to simulate this in one go. You should first simulate the flow (if any) before the valve opens with an appropriate mesh. You can then interpolate onto a new mesh with the valve slightly open.

Regards, Robin
