attaching transient results files

Hi, Would appreciate it if you tell me how is it possible to have the transient steps of two Res. files (Res.000_2 is a rerun (restart) of Res.000_1) in one Res. file so that in POST you have all the steps to be able to see the simulation from the first step up to the end at once,

thanks & regards, houman

Hello houman,

I don't think it is possible. You have to load the res file containing the timesteps you want to view. If you are making an animation, Robin has posted a description of doing that some time ago: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forum/cfx.cgi?read=7444

Hi,

The posting essentially said that you can do an animation across multiple res files by using keyframes. For instance to do an animation across two res files, put on key frame at the start of res file 1, another keyframe at the end of res file 1; load the res file 2 and put a keyframe at the start and end of res file 2. When you record the animation file it should automatically span it across the two res files.
