I am simulating for the cyclone using CFX5. The Reference is the 3.1MPa. I met some questions: For the swirling flow, I used the transient approach and RSM SSG model. During the calculation, the pressure drop keep increasing and more higher than that got from the emperical formula. I set the timesteps as the time flow pass 5 degree in cyclone. I should set the oulet as average static pressure or static pressure? I found that, if I set it as static pressure, the pressure drop keep decreasing. If I set it as average static pressure, the pressure drop keep increasing. Who can give me a answer?
