Default Particle Tracking: CFX 4.4

Hello friends,

For my research project, I want to track particles in a transient flow field. Particles are released in a pulse i.e. 10 particles are released at the same time after the flow field has reached steady state (say after 100 seconds).

It would be of great help if anybody can provide some tips.

If the flow is steady state, and the particles are not dense enough to affect the flow field, then you don't have a transient problem. Follow any of the tutorials that use particle tracking (one way coupling).

If the flow field is affected, then release the particles at a mass rate that is equivalent to a fixed number of particles every 100 seconds. The transient particle tracking was a new feature in CFX-4.4, and there is one example in the tutorials (on-line help) that demonstrates its use (I believe).
