Difference between surface mesh control and inflat
I was trying to understand the difference between surface mesh control and inflation. Would anyone be kind enough to explain? It might be a naive question, But I am just a beginner.

A surface mesh control allows you to define the size of the triangles created on the surface and their volumetric influence (radius of influence). Inflation defines regions where you want the code to "inflate" (or extrude) those triangles into prism elements and how to do so (first element height, number of prism layers, etc.).
Inflation should be used on all walls, but not on open boundaries such as inlets, outlets, openings, periodics or regions where you expect to insert a fluid-fluid GGI (ie any region which allows flow to go through). Regards, Robin |

i.e. you can use a mesh control without inflation and you will get tetrahedron coming off the boundary. With inflation, you get prisms. The mesh control just lets you control the size of each.
