Help with creating a plane in the domain

Hi, all,

I want to use:

areaAve(Pressure)@ 'plane'

in the cross section plane at certain point in the domain. This value will be used to determine my inlet boundary condition(velocity) at each timestep. I guess I need to go back to CFX-geometry to create this cross section plane. Please tell me how.

Regards!

Tony

Re: Help with creating a plane in the domain

I just checked some examples. I don't think I can create a plane that does not physically exist in the domain. So it seems that using CEL is the solution. Anybody knows how to write an expression to get the Pressure data at certain cross section in CFX-pre? Suppose it is a tube.

Thanks!

Hi Tony,

You could make your plane the divide between two sections of mesh, joined by a 1 to 1 or GGI interface. Then you will be able to use the averaging functions in the solver to extract values. This will require a remesh.
