Dear Someone:

I am former user in Build 4, and now that the license for this drawing has finished, I need some guidance on *.geo file creation for use in CFX 4.4 solver using ICEM.CFD 5.0.CFX.

BASICALLY, my question is that "How do you create boundary conditions using this new facility?" Naming the parts OUTLET, INLET...etc., and then cretaing the *.geo file doesn't write it out in the output file.

I hope someone can help assuming my question makes some sense.

Create the parts by selecting the surfaces where your patches will be.

Regenerate the mesh (I'm assuming you're using the blocking feature for hex meshing, just turn the block Pre-Mesh off and back on to regenerate).

Then "Load Mesh..." and choose "From blocking" to load the actual mesh (not the preview mesh) into ICEM. This will generate a .hex file.

Then write out your geo file, making sure to select the .hex file that was created when you loaded the mesh from blocking.

Struggled with this one myself early on.
