Hi everyone, i am new user, i am just wondering whether i can use porous media with user scalar? Thanks. Joan

No problem in setup. A transient calculation in CFX-5.x, however, will give only a fraction of the transport rate of the scalar through the media since it's using the superficial velocity and not the porous gap velocity in the convection term (CFX-4 used to do this correctly using the porosity modified velocities). I have corrected this before by adding an appropriate source term based on the porosity. In a steady state run, it all works out in the end.
