Supersonic flow simulation for multi-component

Hi, All

I am simulating H2 jet, injecting into air. The relatvie pressure at the H2 inlet is 20 Bar, and the inflow velocity uses the sonic speed of H2 (About 1300m/s).

I found out when dealing with multi-component flows, the supersonic option for the inlet condition is no longer available! It means I can't specify the inlet velocity and the pressure at the same time! Though someone suggested I should use the total energy option for heat transfer, that is the way I always do. Problems are still not solved. Anyone any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Jianping

Hi, Jianping,

I had exactly the same problem than you. Solution is simple. Use CFX 5.7.1 instead of CFX5.7 and supersonic option at the inlet is also availabe if you use a multicomponent fluid.

Thanks Andi,

Yes, I think that is a bug in CFX 5.7.

It can be overcome by using 5.7.1 or manually modifying the CCL. The CFX team replied me, and it works fine! :)
