Hi,

Are you using the moving mesh capibility? If so, take a look at: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forum/cfx.cgi?read=9363 ; and if you have access to the CFX Community web site take also a look at: http://www-waterloo.ansys.com/cfxcom...p?TOPIC_ID=629

But as Glenn Horrocks says: " the min mode el expert parameter does not work all the time ... The only totally reliable fix is to update to CFX 5.7.1 where the problem has been resolved.", so consider to update to CFX-5.7.1

Regards,

Rui

Hi,

Are you using the moving mesh capability, or aren't you? If you are, try with the expert parameter (however you shouldn't need it in CFX-5.7.1).

Rui

Hi Neser,

If you have access to the CFX Community web site, take a look at: http://www-waterloo.ansys.com/cfxcom...Terms=code,255 , where an error with return code 255 is reported (CFX-5.7.1). On the last post, the person who reported the error says: "it looks the problem was caused by an antivirus application which had a firewall feature in it. No problems since I disabled that."

However, as the cause of the error was not clear, as your error may be caused by something else, and as it seems you are having more errors with CFX-Solver, I think you should contact CFX technical support.

Regards,

Rui

Yes the problem was due to McAfee's buffer overflow protection mechanism. I havent faced any problems since I disabled the buffer overflow and port blocking features.

Well I have the enterprise ver 8.0.0 and in that it was pretty straight forward, it was available on the virus console dialog box. Are you trying a parallel run or at what stage is this error occuring?
