animation

Hello everybody,

I need to make an animation for a transient simulation to see how a flame propagates.

Well, I defined several sections using conturs for the plans I have created and than I created the user surfaces from the contur.

The surafces look nice, but i can only see 2 d surfces in this way. How can I created a volume (to see a the whole flame).

Any others tips for animations are welcome!

there are particular details and an example in the CFX-help document , maybe some help for you.

Hi,

Use an iso-surface. That will show the flame front in 3D.

Hi Glenn,

Thanks as lot for your reply, indeed I got the 3D flame that I wanted, but I don't like the way it looks.

There are no other ways?

Hi Caty,

You don't like the way it looks? Don't forget you have control over many factors such as what colour the surface is, how it is rendered, smoothing, etc etc. Alternately you can put a contour plot on an isosurface, you could do a contour plot of a cross-section plane of the flame, you could do a 3D "fly-by" animation of the isosurface. There's many more things you can do in CFX-Post, it is quite powerful.

There are many ways to visualise a flow and generating a good visualisation is not always straightforward.
