What is CFX-Build ???
 

Everybody in this forum metion to CFX-Build many times, but I wonder what is CFX-Build ??? I have ICEM CFD 5.1, CFX 5.7.1 and Workbench 9.0. So I often generate a mesh in CFX-Mesh or ICEM CFD, then import to CFX to solver ! So, CFX-Build is a software to generate a mesh ???? Thanks for reading !

CFX Build is the old tool, it's seem ICEM CFD .... It was used for CFX4 and CFX5.5, for making geometry, meshing and we defined in also BC, Intial condition ... Bref all thinks what we do now in Pre. But now ansys compagnie gave up it to the new meshing tools

CFX-Build is geometry and meshing solution built upon MSC.Patran(with solid modelling licenses). Now Patran go away, but meshing from CFX-Build was carried to Workbench as CFX-Mesh.

I like CFX-Build very much, it works for me, still used it 2 days ago. I am not motivated yet to learn anything else, besides I am almost done with my Ph.D

Maybe CFX-Mesh sometimes works very well, but ICEM provides more strong solution... And this pain with constructing of solids in Patran... Where in ICEM you can work with much little headache. I remember my experience in CFX-Build where i tried to model passage in turboexpander. I made this... but in ICEM I made hexa mesh for entire stage with less time.

would you please illustrate CFX Build and how to make use of it in analysing and resolving suction side inlet cavitation

You must be new to CFX (no insult ) Build used to be part of the CFX5 program until cfx5.7, its the geometry building and mesh generating unit. Its like Patran if you 've ever used one b4. Quite good I think, but a lot of people never liked it.
