Solid domain heat transfer

Hi All, In my previous post I described my task (heatsink on semiconductor chip) and ERROR #004100018 I received. Now I change my setup and avoided error, received normal values of air temperature around the heatsink, however the temperature in the solid domain of the heatsink is absolutely uniform and equal to the temperature of the die (energy source), which cannot be true. Why does not CFX model heat transfer in the solid domain? Thanks, F.S.

Re: Solid domain heat transfer

Hi,

CFX does model heat transfer in the solid domain, there is just something wrong with your model. My first guess is it is not converged yet and requires more iterations. A large value for "Solid timescale factor" will accelerate convergence in most cases, values from 10^3 to 10^6 are often used.
