How to define the location of domain interface?
When I am using MFR to solve a rotating impeller, two separate domains are set up. One is for tank domain and the other is the impeller domain. How to define the location of domain interface? Can we randomly define it or we should select an optimal position? Please advise!

Re: How to define the location of domain interface
Hi,
Generally it is placed by geometrical constraints, that is outside the blades but inside any stationary objects. Other than that it does not make a huge difference, but if you had a choice you would place it in a region of simple flow rather than an area where you would expect recirculations. Re: How to define the location of domain interface
Hi, Glenn After I ran the simulation, I found that inconsistancy of the velocity distribution along the domain interface. What could cause this? Poor mesh quality or wrong B.C? or other?
Thanks! |
Re: How to define the location of domain interface
Hi,
Have a look at the variable "velocity in stn frame". Glenn Horrocks |
