Hello, I am using CFX for the first time, previously I had simulated a wing using NECTAR, which is a 2-d solver. I am a bit confused with the coordinate system in CFX, for example, my model is 3-D, X is direction of flow and y perpendicular to it and z is vertical.for Fd (drag) I used the force about X which was close, but for lift, I use force about z and moment about y. is this correct or does cfx uses a different convention ?

Hi,

CFX uses whatever coordinate system you draw the geometry in by default, and you can define your own coordinate systems if you like as well.

axis orientation in cfx is inherited from your meshing program. if the position of the wing is as you say then all your calculations are correct. but be carefull for the moment calculation because you probably want the moment around the center of the wing. in your described case i suppose you have the coordinate sistem in the center of the wing.
